Early June in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne

June is a good month. Just out of spring and the beginning of summer it is gloriously green. Thunderstorms still providing lots of rainwater and shows of lightning. This is the view this morning about 0900 as I took our dog for a run and swim. It was calm and peaceful except for the occasional splashes of our labrador retrieving his buoy. He loves to run in the grass under the oak trees. It is cool and soft under his paws and he just runs and runs like nowhere else. It is a serene place.

2 things you will see almost everywhere here are walnut trees and the big brown limousin cattle. The nuts are taking shape and are larger than an olive at the moment. The nuts are pressed to make oil and are of course also sold as the whole nut.

The cows are enjoying grazing in the fields. The grass is tall and lush after all the spring rains. They seem curious and give a stare as we pass by.

It is a beautiful place to live and explore.

Springtime has arrived!

After a long and very wet winter the countryside is returning to life! The cherry trees are in blossom both pink and white, daffodils add sunshine to the bright green grass. Birdsong awakens you and there is again warmth in the sun!

First snow of 2018!!!

Our first snow of the new year and all of us are enjoying it! Maybe some more tomorrow :) :)
